How to Dispose of Medications in Washington State
1. Safe Medication Return Program
Washington has a statewide, free program where you can return:
Prescription medications
Over-the-counter medicines
Inhalers
Creams, ointments, patches
👉 Controlled substances (like opioids, ADHD meds, anxiety meds) are also accepted.
2. Drop-off Kiosks
Find a secure kiosk at:
Many pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, Safeway, independent pharmacies)
Some law enforcement offices

3. Free Mail-Back Envelopes

4. Take-Back Events
